Most people by now are familiar with the narrative that our planet faces a dire crisis due to rising temperatures. In January 2023, former Vice President Al Gore provided a graphic depiction during a World Economic Forum summit, informing attendees that greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are “now trapping as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the Earth.“That’s what’s boiling the oceans, creating these atmospheric rivers, and the rain bombs, and sucking the moisture out of the land, and creating the droughts, and melting the ice, and raising the sea level,...

It has been mentioned on the news that the sentencing for Trump has been timed to occur a mere 3 days prior to the GOP convention. Furthermore, it is quite possible that Merchan could immediately handcuff DJT and sentence him to a lengthy incarceration with little that could be done to prevent this.. I welcome your views and insights on this ..

Trump lost. So has America. Not that you would know it from most of yesterday's news coverage, so-called reporters and journalists practically levitating over 34 guilty verdicts in a trial that was nothing but a political hit job. You can dislike Donald Trump, as I and so many others do, and still find yourself outraged. This case — which the feds declined to prosecute — was falsely, flimsily predicated on 'election interference'. Want to talk election interference? How about keeping the GOP nominee for president off the campaign trail for nearly two months? Or scheduling his sentencing just four days...

Yes, we mean something other than the Tesla Cybertruck. You can’t really go wrong with a pickup truck. They’re like the Swiss Army Knives of the automotive world. Wanna haul or pull some crap? There’s a bed and you can tow. Wanna carry people? There’s a number of cab configurations to suit your needs. Want one with luxury features that rival a BMW 7 Series or Genesis G90? You can drop six figures for a truck that’ll coddle you. This isn’t to say that they’re all good. Take the Hyundai Santa Cruz, for example. It was first shown as a concept...

CV NEWS FEED // A judge this month granted Prisha Mosley’s lawsuit to proceed against the doctors who encouraged her to undergo life-altering “transgender” surgeries at 16. The lawsuit is the first of its kind that a judge has granted to proceed, according to Mosley’s lawyer. “This is the first substantive ruling we are aware of in which a Court has held that a detransitioner’s case against her health care professionals is legally viable,” Mosley’s lawyer Josh Payne stated, according to a May 16 FOX News article. “We are honored to represent Prisha as she pursues justice for herself and...

Hundreds of New York City kids walked out of school Friday and staged a pro-Palestinian protest that was promoted by several radical teacher groups. Some 350 students had descended on the Department of Education headquarters at the Tweed Courthouse in Lower Manhattan starting by 4 p.m.. They were seen waving signs on the front steps of the building calling for a cease-fire in Gaza and describing Israel’s military offensive on the region following the Oct. 7 terror attack as “genocide.” The walkout was organized by Teachers Unite and a handful of other groups, including NYC Educators for Palestine, the Palestine...

The Nazi occupying forces massacred civilians in Crete. Credit: Bundesarchiv, CC BY-SA 3.0 de/Wikipedia Greek scientists have recently identified 18 people who were executed by the Nazis in Crete through DNA analysis. In the Battle of Crete during the World War II occupation of Greece, the German forces faced substantial civilian resistance. The inhabitants of Adele, a prosperous lowland village in the northeastern part of the Rethymnon regional unit, resisted fiercely and had formed an armed resistance group. As a consequence, the German forces surrounded the village on June 2, 1941, and arrested 18 male civilians (including two fathers with...

It took me a while to understand the expression ‘Your name is mud’... It took me a while to understand the expression “Your name is mud.” It’d come up when I was playing sandlot baseball or learning about football. Someone would scream it, and I had no idea why such an expression would be used in a sunny day. So eventually my wonderful 6th-grade teacher (Miss Jones) explained the story of Dr. Mudd and John Wilkes Boothe. She said that it was something like “You are discredited or in disgrace. The very mention of your name produces scorn.” Thank you,...

Aardwolves — the "weird cousin" of the hyena world that has peg teeth and only eats insects — are an evolutionary mystery, stemming from a ghost lineage that scientists haven't been able to figure out. CNN — Donald Trump’s media allies are demanding retribution in the wake of his conviction.Following weeks of attacks targeting the historic hush money case against the former president, prominent right-wing media figures immediately flooded the public discourse Thursday with extreme and disturbing rhetoric after Trump was found guilty on 34 felony counts.(snip)The United States is not a third world country. Trump got his day in court and was treated by the judge, by all accounts, quite fairly. Biden did not direct so-called deep state forces to engage in “lawfare” against Trump.

John Coltrane’s sessions for the Prestige label proved to be supremely fertile and prolific, marking the saxophonist’s creative rebirth. It’s 1958 and John Coltrane is looking to rebuild his career. The reputation of the Philadelphia-raised musician, then 32, had seemed in serious jeopardy a year earlier, after his heroin addiction got him fired from Miles Davis’ group. As a rising star of the tenor saxophone – the man who had lit up a clutch of Davis albums recorded for both Prestige and Columbia during 1955-56 – the high-flying Coltrane seemed an indispensable component of the trumpeter’s band, but the shock of...
