Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!
We Come into Your Glorious Presence With Singing,
And into Your Courts With Praise.
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Most High,
The Great I AM.
God of Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob,
We Worship You and You Alone,
Creator of All That Is,
And Sovereign LORD of All Nature,
Which is Under Your Control at All Times.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

The Names and Titles of God (Man of Sorrows)

Isaiah 53:3

3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

King James Version

We talk about the Handel Oratorio a lot in this Thread. Just a few months ago, we went through this monumental work, one song at a time. In my humble opinion, this Aria is the most difficult to sing and present to an audience. If it is too slow, heavy, and ponderous, you will lose the audience. If it is too "lively", it belies the immense gravity of the piece.

A proper rendition of this aria has to impress upon the audience the weight of the Sins of the World being thrust upon One Man, Who bears them to the Cross.

On double-CD sets of Handel's Messiah, this aria usually comes at the end of CD #1, or sometimes is the first track of CD #2. That means that it occurs at approximately the Center of the whole Oratorio. It is a pivot point in the Libretto. That is appropriate, because that moment in time was a Pivot Point for All Eternity.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Amen. Thank You, Jesus for taking away grief and sorrows so we don’t have to carry them. We are so very grateful.
