The Senate Budget Committee’s Democratic majority and Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) took aim at the oil industry Wednesday for historically minimizing the impacts of fossil fuels on the climate in a hearing on the results of a bicameral investigation into the industry’s efforts.
In perhaps the most contentious exchange of the hearing, during which senators from both parties were cordial with Raskin, the Maryland Democrat also turned his criticism on a Republican committee member, calling Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) a “climate fatalist.”
In testimony before the committee in the first half of the hearing, Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, told the panel that “instead of telling the world about the perils of global warming and working to change their business model, the companies suppressed relevant scientific findings for decades and came to challenge and contradict urgent calls by scientists to take climate change seriously as a global threat.”

the oil industry isn’t ‘minimizing’ anything- they are going by the science which shows that mankind is NOT causing climate change- raskin and ilk are the ones ‘over-inflating’ wild claims which do not line up scientifically! He and his ilk are peddling a lie and i wish members of congress would stand up to him and his ilk by stating that fact- but sadly most rinos want in on the very lucrative scam!

Bingo. The attack on oil is the same tactic used to fleece cigarette companies. Lawyers are drooling at the prospect of huge pay outs. The big mistake cig company execs made was to deny that cigs are addictive. The correlation to lung cancer however is weak. Many cig smokers die of comorbidities. There are many cases of people who have never smoked at all who died of lung cancer.

There’s a great documentary about cig science on Prime called Addiction. A scientist was hired by a cig company to research non addictive cigs. Instead by accident he discovered a recipe that makes cigs 100 times more addictive. When reporting his results to a conference of execs, they stood and applauded.
Yea, Raskin is a climate alarmist. Oh, and a communist. Beelzebub Biden just wasted trillions on the green new deal.
There’s plenty of ‘suppression’ of science going on, Jamie, and it’s being done by the climate hysterics who’ve bought you.
I am rooting for cancer. How does Ratskin contract brain cancer when he show time after time that the sole purpose of his brain is to keep his skull from collapsing inward.
