I agree, I threw the discus and held my high school record for a time. I would not have entered or competed in the girls event. A matter of principle, I was born a male.

I also coached boys soccer and several girls trained and played on this squad — there was no corresponding girls team at that time. I did not forbid these girls from playing, but there was some discenssion from the other schools who felt that their players might have to hold back to avoid injuring these players. I can understand this as well. Fortunately today we have girls teams and boys teams, but they should stay separate.

I was coaching boys wrestling and one kid had girl opponent. He said he didn’t feel like he could wrestle the same way against her (nice kid). I told him to pretend it was his sister. First period pin for him and he apologized profusely to her. She told him he did well.

This is understandable and reasonable in a moral world. I don’t think we have that anymore.
