Not to mention the ones that think getting paid $20 a day with a lunch is a great deal.

Exactly. Or too dishonest to admit their bias.
The way I’ve always gotten out of jury duty was a) tell them I’m a CPA, I can think for myself, and that I believe people who break the law should be punished.

They don’t like any of that. Saying that, I never mage it past square one.

Questions for prospective jurors for any case - Are you a disinterested party? Are you a family member? Work relationship?

If the answers are no, congratulations, get in the jury box. The prosecution and the defense have promised me that they can present their cases in a week each. With cross examinations and closings, we’ll have you out of here in a month.
