Colorado’s election chief is warning that presidential electors who vote for someone other than Hillary Clinton — the state's popular vote winner — could face a perjury charge.
The warning from Secretary of State Wayne Williams, a Republican, increases the peril for a group of Colorado’s Democratic presidential electors who have signaled they may reject Clinton as part of a long-shot national strategy to block the election of Donald Trump. They were already facing the prospect of an election law violation that carries the potential for a small fine and a year of jail time.
Williams told POLITICO in a phone interview that he intends to administer an oath to electors prior to Monday’s official meeting of the Electoral College. Any electors who decide to oppose Clinton won’t just be violating the election law that requires them to support Colorado’s popular vote winner – they’ll be violating their oath as well.
“If Elector A writes down Bernie Sanders or Ted Cruz or anyone other than Hillary Clinton, they immediately cease to be an elector and they’re replaced,” he said. “The difference here is you have perjured yourself.”
“If you swear the oath and then immediately violate it,” he continued, “I think there’s a basis for a more severe criminal penalty.”
Williams noted that he’s not a prosecutor so he couldn’t say whether electors might be charged with felony perjury – a more serious charge that carries a punishment of up to six years in prison and a $500,000 fine – or misdemeanor perjury, which carries a maximum of 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine....

Rogue electors should be hunted down and exposed. All of their personal information published including employment, SSN, phone, family members residences, who are their neighbors, their bosses, everything about them.

They want the precedent set that electors can freely defy their state legislatures. This will allow Trump electors to be bribed and/or intimidated or blackmailed to vote against Trump. It will make a total mockery out of the popular election process this nation has evolved to, and that is what Soros wants.

Their idea is that if they dont vote for HRC, then they can entice Republican electors to not vote for Trump, but for some globalist elitist “compromise” candidate instead.
It was pointed out yesterday, that all of the Democrat electors pledging to do this have been from western states, so if some sufficient number of Republican electors are naive and foolish enough to be browbeat and threatened into voting for Kasich or McCain or Romney or McMullen or Graham or Ryan or Jeb Bush or any of the sort of Republicans who would go along with this treasonous scheme, doesn’t matter who, just get Trump below 270, then these western Democrat electors would benefit from the time zone difference and would still vote for Clinton as required. It’s Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown. Whoops.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but these democrat electors wanting to do this all appear to be from western/southwest states so far (WA, CA, CO)...they “claim” they want and would go for someone like a Kasich or Romney, but seems to me it’s actually a ploy to try to trick enough gop electors into going along with it to bring Trump’s electoral votes below Hillary’s, because what guarantee is there they would actually vote for another-Republican-not-Trump when it comes their time to vote? Had these democrat electors been located in the Northeast/Eastern seaboard states which went abundantly for Hillary doing this and are the 1st ones in the nation to cast their electoral votes, it would appear a bit less sinister. But that they are in states which’ll cast their votes later indicates to me they wouldn’t hold their end of the bargain and vote for a “compromise” if this were to work and enough republicans abandoned Trump.
I'm sure it's occurred to others what I noticed and posted the libs are up to, but rather surprised much, much more had not been made of this fact.
Faced with actual consequences for illegal behavior, I bet every one of these gutless wonders fall into line and vote for Hillary with nary a peep. (Well, OK, there might be a little whining, but that’s not illegal.)
