Why Putin can’t afford to lose Ramzan Kadyrov

Rumours have circulated for a while about the health, physical and mental, of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. But the latest bout of speculation, set running last week by a report in Russia’s exiled Novaya Gazeta, seems more credible than many. It states that 47-year-old Kadyrov has been suffering from the potentially fatal condition of pancreatic necrosis and recently suffered a sharp turn for the worse. The Kremlin, the report continues, is looking for a successor to ensure continued stability in the region.

Providing more details about Kadyrov’s declining health, Novaya Gazeta cites an anonymous source at the elite Moscow presidential hospital, who claims that Kadyrov was treated there last autumn after overdosing on sleeping pills. There were also sightings of senior Chechen officials apparently visiting him.

By way of a denial, the Chechen leader’s office promptly released a video showing Kadyrov in the gym, doing press ups, lifting weights and wrestling. ‘A busy day ended with exercise and positivity’, an accompanying script said. ‘Remember that taking care of your health is an investment in your future.’

Speculating about the health of leaders is hardly without precedent, whether in Russia or in many other countries. But it takes on particular significance where the succession may be in question. President Vladimir Putin’s demise has been forecast on many occasions, with eagle-eyed observers watching for the tiniest indicator of ill-health. Such rumours may be merely malicious. Sometimes they may be intended to signal that the object of the rumours may have fallen out of favour. But sometimes they may be true.

Apparently, Ramzan Kadyrov, believed to be a drug addict, was walking around Grozny in his pajamas when the Russian FSB decided to intervene. They took him back to his residence and contacted Putin who ordered that he be flown to Moscow for treatment of his addiction. “From the morning of September 6 to the morning of September 7, Ramzan Kadyrov, being under the strong influence of narcotic substances, was out for a whole day. Waking up in the early morning of September 7, Kadyrov, telling the guards not to go with him, went for a walk in his pajamas, from the residence itself to the mayor’s office of Grozny. It is unclear why Kadyrov was going there and what was in his head, but soon his entourage came to him, to whom the FSB gave the order. Kadyrov was taken away and taken back to the residence, after which the FSB, having reported the incident to Putin, received an order from him to urgently take Kadyrova to Moscow for treatment. Kadyrov was sent by plane to Moscow that evening, where he is forced to undergo (again) treatment for drug addiction.” — Chechen Republic of Ichkeria TG Channel

There'll be a power vacuum in Chechnya if Kadyrov is not there to rule with an iron fist.

The Russians had to fight two wars to get it under control.

From the article: “Rumours have circulated for a while about the health, physical and mental, of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.”

“Providing more details about Kadyrov’s declining health, Novaya Gazeta cites an anonymous source at the elite Moscow presidential hospital, who claims that Kadyrov was treated there last autumn after overdosing on sleeping pills.”

Are these the same sources that claimed Putin’s stage 4 elbow cancer had metastasized and he was going to be dead in a month, 2+ years ago?

Who knows ?

Kadyrov may be sick but when the UK Regime Tabloid Press announced that Putin was immobailized with terminal cancer, within a few days he visited the Tula military factory and jumped up on a tank.

Ah yes, the pull a rabbit from your hat victory trick from Ukrainian Press.

No doubt the morale of the Frontline troops will embolden them to just hang on a little longer waiting for the Science to save them.

Putin is going smash Ukraine, grab Odessa, and negotiate with the new coup leaders of Kiev. The offensive will start anytime after the May Victory Parade thru the end of June.
