Well said.
Does anyone GAS?
The Waltons are fixin to be on.
I got kicked off of Zuckerbook in 2019. Only favor that little rat ever did me.
stop feeding the beast, get off the platform.
Of course this is because of global warming.
I have it blocked from my network and don’t care other than to watch out for the zombies to attack if it does go down for more than a few minutes.
Works for me.
It seems to be up now.
Hardly. Today's graph looks like pretty normal usage. When Facebook is having problems, the reports are in the 100,000's, not 75-100.
Hardly, huh? When Downdetector is reporting problems it means people are reporting problems. Else it would not be showing up there. Thanks for your input.
I don't doubt that those few dozen people were experiencing problems, but I guarantee you that the problems were NOT due to "Facebook being down". They were due to the multitude of other causes, most of which are local to the user.
Facebook has hundreds of millions of users at any given time. That's something north of 100,000,000 users, probably lots more. If Facebook is actually down, and only 0.1% of those 100 million report a problem on Downdetector, that's 100,000 reports.
So if Downdetector shows 1000 reported problems, I get curious. 10,000, the problem could be either Facebook or a major internet provider. 100,000, there's probably a problem at Facebook.
But if Downdetector has 100 reports? Feh. That's either user confusion/error, or their WiFi hotspot took a dump. It ain't Facebook.
Full disclosure: I work in IT, and use Downdetector daily. I'm pretty good at telling what represents an actual "down".
I was advised to seek help
My account has been permanently suspended
Kinda feel good although won't be able to spread the conservative word...
