I logged in today and the computer told me Facebook "can't be reached." Is anyone else having that experience. Is Herr Suckerberg's baby down again?

It’s okay here in the Chicago suburbs.

I didn’t know it was still even a thing. I thought it went the way of MySpace.

I don’t use Facebook, but I hear a lot of families use it, to keep track of each other after the kids have moved away.
Same with friendship groups. There are most likely equivalent sites, geared toward younger groups, with ads for products used by the young.
I get the impression, many users prefer online connection to a live phone call, mainly because you can edit your remarks, maybe delete something that was too blunt before you send it.
I Text a lot using my phone. That editing feature sure is handy.

I have relatives on FB. It works and is convenient to stay in touch. If I had to not use an app because the management was a$$holes I wouldn’t be using any apps at all.

Also for finding high school and college friends with whom you’ve lost touch.

Never had it, never will, and never will mist it.
Same with Instagram and WhatsApp and TikTok.
People can do without them.
FR is the most social media I need, but then, it’s nor really social media.
