A conservative 'fighter' won the WV governor race (GOP primary)

Patrick Morrisey just won by far the most expensive gubernatorial primary in West Virginia state history. It was a brutal race with 4 major candidates. Moore Capito was the establishment favorite, with a current U.S. Senator for a mom AND a former Governor for a grandfather. Chris Miller has a Congresswoman for a mom, AND another former Congressman for a grandfather. Mac Warner, the Secretary of State ONLY had a former Chairman of the State GOP for a brother, another brother who was the GOP nominee for Governor, and a member of the House of Delegates for a wife. Itโ€™s a good thing voters hate legacy politicians.

Morrisey is the stateโ€™s AG, but he has been very much outside the establishment, especially in relation to his competitors. The WV media was firmly on the Moore Capito bandwagon.

Remember the name.

I've heard good things about him. He beat a sitting U.S. senator and some other well connected politicians.

It's a Win.

All those ‘related-tos’ in the list makes me realise once again that at the end of the day, we really DO like being ruled by royalty. Nations might ditch hereditary royalty, and become republics, but in the end, we just replace one form of royalty with another: Namely incestuous family political dynasties, such as Bush, Kennedy, and numerous others.

You put your thoughts so well about generational dynasties in America. I would have been more crude and said they are families who think their **** doesn’t stink.

Your description of the various candidates above (except Morrissey) sounds downright incestuous. Eww.

Well, it IS WV after all, where the definition of “virgin” is “a girl who can run faster than her brothers”. ;-)

Third try, got it right. ;’}

I voted against (and will continue to vote against) all members of the Moore/Capito political slime machine.

AG Patrick Morrissey has given us excellent service using successful lawsuits to neutralize various abuses of power emanating from WashingtonDC.

And his democrat opponent will win.

Says the guy from Beijing ...

The rats only had one candidate in their primary for governor... So let's have a look at the next highest State office: Attorney General.

Republicans:

John McCuskey: 116,723 votes
Mike Stuart: 78,293 votes

Democrats:

Teresa Toriseva: 50, 167 votes
Ritchie Robb: 45, 106 votes.

The Democrat winner got fewer votes than the Republican loser ...
