RAT commies don't understand what makes food prices skyrocket. That's adorable.

We’ve been told he’s already working on it by importing cheap farm labor by the millions.

What does Biden have to do to get food prices down appreciably enough to make a difference in this election? The only thing I can think of is to waive any taxes for producers. His inflation machine is too big, slow and cumbersome to do anything else, IMO.

This is "caused by excessive price gouging by food and grocery giants," the Democrats claimed.

Whatever the demoncraps are planning will result in even higher prices and/or barren shelves.

The problem is nobody knows history or economics. From the Mises Institute:

"In 284 A.D. the Roman emperor Diocletian created inflation by placing too much money in circulation"

Here we go. Food prices went up 75% since Biden took office. He will reduce them by 50% by punishing the industry and then claim food prices dropped significantly. And once again the media will gaslight Americans.

This is Obamacare for the food industry.

I suspect that this is just an attempt to reverse some of the dem’s losses because Joe’s horrible management during the past 3+ years. If, by some quirk of nature, he gets re-elected the game plan will go back to where it is now.

I hope that the electorate will see through this pandering attempt.

It never ceases to amaze me how little Democrats understand basic economics or even mathematics. Inflation represents a change in prices. Once those prices go up, they tend to stay up, even if inflation goes to zero.

If a something costs $100, then inflation of 9% in one year raises that to $109. Even if the next year’s inflation rate is 0%, the price stays at $109. More likely, the inflation rate drops to, say, 3%, so the new price is $112.27. That’s how inflation works.

The President has no authority to lower prices. Only through support of the free market system, elimination restrictions and lowering taxes, can prices come down.

That’s what Donald Trump will do. I have no idea what Biden will do.

”…… creating a joint task force with the purpose of investigating the manipulation of food prices.“

Isn’t what they are asking Biden to do exactly that? Manipulation of food prices in order to change the results of an election.

What’s he gonna do? Demand bigger Twinkies?

This farce is completely FJB/Zerohisseff’s fault.

What are Joe’s option based upon past practice…..

open the borders to illegal food to stream across?

DOJ investigations of food companies until they wise up and lower prices.

Promote Trans Food into your kitchen, joining the real food, which everyone can eat instead. Of course there would need to be a political movement forcing acceptance of Trans Food!

Open up America to Chinese grown food….. you know the Chinese use the most natural fertilizer in the world……

Promote Starvation to reduce Global Warming and it’s Green! Thus lower the average families food cost…… less eating, less cost! Good one Joe!

And lastly, force Food Companies to hire Hunter! If nothing else there will be 10% for the Big Guy

Notably, grocery prices have not fallen at the same rate as inflation. This is "caused by excessive price gouging by food and grocery giants," the Democrats claimed.

That's what happens when you attack the agricultural and energy sectors, ding dongs. Attacking truckers and farmers doesn't yield good results.

It is too late for the effects of any policy change to come out in time for the November election.

I think it’s a combo of a lot of things. What makes mayonnaise 9 dollars a jar? Minimum wage, and historic profits for grocery chains are a backwards situation.

So they’re gonna stop the killing of millions of chickens? The harassment of cattle and dairy farmers? Maybe break up the concentration of foreign-owned meat processors? Support domestic oil and gas production to rein in transportation and store/electricity costs?

Dozens of Democratic lawmakers signed a letter to President Biden, pleading with him to act on high grocery prices

This is laughable. Presidents can do a lot to drive up grocery prices, and Biden has done all of that. Presidents can do virtually nothing to bring down grocery prices except avoiding gross federal overspending - and avoiding gross overspending is not even a concept for Democrats.

Biden doing nothing is likely to be better than the leftist impulse to “do something.” These people do not need to be doing things.

The “right” spent a couple of decades making everything into an economic question, but we are still debating these people on what causes inflation. That has been settled science for about 50 years.
